It takes about 2.5 hours by car from Naha Airport. It is the northernmost surf point on the main island of Okinawa. Everyone seems to be fascinated by the spectacular view from the observatory and the starry sky that looks like a living Milky Way, which makes the description “falling” seem cliché.
Point 2: What kind of beach is “Cape Hendo (Kochan)”?
Cape Hendo (Kochan)” is located at the northernmost tip of the main island of Okinawa and is a sheer cliff. In summer, you can see the beautiful sea with a gradation of emerald green to blue, but in winter, even in Okinawa, the sea is so rough that the waves can splash up to the top of the cliff.
Compared to the central and southern areas, the waves are higher even in the summer, making it an irresistible point for intermediate and advanced surfers. The giant 11-meter statue of a Yanbaruquina peeks out from above, and the view of the sea at the northern tip of Okinawa from the chest of the Yanbaruquina is spectacular, as is the image of the monstrous bird looking toward Yoron Island.
