Point 1: What is the location of “Yoh Island”?
Yoh Island” is a small island off the coast of Onna Village in the central part of Okinawa’s main island.
It is a private island for picnics managed by the Hotel Moon Beach Museum Resort, where visitors can enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, BBQ, and other activities on the island by boat.
It takes about 15 minutes by small boat from Moon Beach Hotel to Yoh Island through the beautifully gradated waters ranging from emerald green to turquoise blue.
The water is quite deep, but so clear that you can see all the way to the bottom.
Even while snorkeling, the water is crystal clear and you can see colorful tropical fish.
The hotel has arranged for the public to be able to cross the sandy beach visible from the main island, but you will have to cross by SUP or kayak.
Point 2: How can I cross to “Yoh Island”? Can the general public go there?
To get to “Yoh Island,” in addition to SUP and kayaking, Hotel Moon Beach organizes tours, which are available to both guests and the general public.
Although there is a difference in price between overnight guests and the general public, the 4-hour picnic tour is (overnight guests: 12,100 yen for adults and 8,800 yen for children/general public: 14,300 yen for adults and 11,000 yen for children, April through October), and the snorkeling & island walking eco tour is (overnight guests: 6,600 yen and general public: 7,700 yen), Snorkeling & kayak tour (7,700 yen for guests, 8,800 yen for the general public).

Point 3: What are the activities and ways to play on “Yoh Island”?
Of course, snorkeling and kayaking are highly recommended activities on Yoh Island, but what we highly recommend is the “island walking” eco-tour.
In the jungle thick with tropical vegetation, you may encounter the natural treasure hermit crab and Okinawa lizards, which do not even live on the main island of Okinawa!
It is interesting to see the different ecosystems even though it is only a 15-minute boat ride from the main island.
Besides, lunch is barbecued on Shirahama with a cook in the house! (Only the picnic tour includes BBQ). (BBQ is included on picnic tours only). In addition, you can spend your time as you wish, slumbering in a hammock or reading a book in a beach chair.
