Oscar Beach” is located in Onna Village, less than an hour from Naha Airport. Onna Village is long and narrow, but it is located in the middle of the village, between Yomitan Village and Nago.
From Naha Airport, simply take the Okinawa Expressway and Route 58 northward, and the beach is located along the national highway, making it very easy to find.
Onna Village is famous for its beaches, such as Mission Beach and Nabby Beach, which are large and offer many activities, but Oscar Beach is a private beach tucked away between the two.
Point 2: What kind of beach is “Oscar Beach”? Are there any activities?
Oscar Beach” is not a formal beach, but a private beach where locals come to play.
There is a very clean long sandy beach where locals occasionally take a walk and clean the beach, and the scenery is wonderful, matching the emerald green sea.
There is also a moderate amount of greenery, so people come here to camp or BBQ because of the shade. In Okinawa, beaches with greens and rocks are very valuable because they provide shade.
However, basically, there are not as many people as on the famous beaches, so you can relax and enjoy yourself.
Swimming is not prohibited, but swimming and snorkeling are at your own risk, so please be careful of the currents and dangerous creatures.
Point 3: What are some of the attractions and eateries near “Oscar Beach”?
Around “Oscar Beach” are Manzame (8 minutes by car) and Busena Underwater Park (9 minutes by car). Onna Village is long and narrow, and the road runs along the coastline, so you can enjoy the scenic view.
Also, although there are many large hotels and few individual restaurants in the area, I highly recommend that you stop by “Taco Rice Cafe Kijimuna Onna Village Branch”.
The omelette taco rice wrapped in egg is especially impressive and delicious! The avocado on top gives it an even mellower taste! It is also popular with children.
