About an hour drive from Naha Airport. It is an Okinawan glass specialty store located in “Yachimun-no-sato” in Yomitan Village. It is a place where you can enjoy the entire world view of the store, not just Okinawan glass on display for sale. There are also many fashionable stores around the area, making it fun to stroll around.
Point 1: What is the product mix of “HIZUKI”?
If you want to buy Okinawan yachimun (pottery), there are pot shops in Naha City, but we recommend that you go to Yomitan Village, where “Yachimun-no-sato” is located.
HIZUKI is located further inland from Yachimun-no-sato, closer to Cape Zanba.
First of all, the seersucker that looks like a clay figurine at first glance at the entrance is cute!
Once you pass through the brick door and enter the museum, you will find a variety of artworks on display, just like in an art museum.
HIZUKI” sells not only Okinawan glass, but also wooden plates and miscellaneous goods.
First of all, there is Okinawan glass, which is the work of glass artist “Oyabu Miyo,” who runs this studio. The delicate yet somewhat rugged forms are appealing.
Plates, cups, and bowls reminiscent of antiques from the Parisian studio “Astier de Villatte,” tea canisters from the famous Kyoto tea canister maker “Kaikado,” beautiful and delicate wooden tableware from “Shimoo design,” and beautiful cutlery from the German cutlery maker “Eichenlaub. The collection is composed of five brands of cutlery, including the beautiful and sturdy cutlery of the German cutlery manufacturer Eichenlaub.
All of them are so attractive that you are drawn in to look at them!
Not only are all the pieces wonderful, but many people are said to be drawn in by the world view of the store itself, and stop by every time they come to Okinawa.
Point 2: Look at the glass by Oyabu Miyo, the leader of “HIZUKI”!
HIZUKI” is headed by Okinawan glass artist M iyo Oyabu.
By displaying not only her own works, but also those of other Oyabu’s glass artists, the product lineup is varied, and above all, it is as enjoyable to look at as if it were a museum!
I am glad to see that Oyabu Miyo’s glass works include not only tableware but also various genres that can be used in daily life, such as free cups, plates, choko, lampshades, paperweights, wind chimes, and vases for daily use.
The forms are unique, with some having bubbles in them, as is typical of Okinawan glass, while others are humorous, with distorted shapes instead of symmetrical ones!
The prices are reasonable, but you will want to get one as a souvenir of your trip.
Point 3: What are the sights and food around “HIZUKI”?

There are many attractive gourmet restaurants and attractions in the vicinity of HIZUKI.
The Yachimun Cafe Gunsei, which serves Okinawan yachimun dishes such as the Caesar salad with crispy bacon and freshly baked pizza, are excellent yet reasonably priced! It is located near Yachimun-no-sato, a 20-minute drive from HIZUKI. The first floor is a gallery and is a sight to behold.
Hanashiki Soba serves not only Okinawa soba, but also gyoza (dumplings), jucy, and set meals, and the portions are very generous! Although a long line is inevitable, you should stop by at least once.
Nakkouri Beach, located 6 minutes away by car, is a beautiful sandy beach with a private atmosphere. There are many kinds of fish, and it is ideal for snorkeling! It is also a spot where the sunset can be seen beautifully.
