About 12 minutes drive from Naha Airport! The newest Sam’s Anchor Inn is the next closest to the airport after the Kokusai-dori branch and has a view of the ocean. The performance of grilling steaks in front of your eyes is breathtaking! Compared to the Kokusai-dori branch, Sam’s Anchor Inn is more spacious and relaxed! Lunch courses are also available for a great price!
Point 1: What kind of restaurant is “Sam’s Anchor Inn Okinawa Toyosaki”?
Sam’s Anchor Inn Okinawa Toyosaki” is a steak restaurant.
In Okinawa, where there is an American cultural influence, it is customary to have steak after drinking, and there are many steak houses on the main island of Okinawa.
There are eight Sam’s restaurants in Okinawa Prefecture, including Anchor Inn, By the Sea, and Sailor Inn, but Sam’s Anchor Inn Toyosaki will be the newest Sam’s, opening in 2020 to coincide with the opening of its tenant, EAS Toyosaki.
The founder of Sam’s is from Hawaii and has an interesting story about being neighbors with Elvis Presley. He came to Okinawa when Okinawa was still in the U.S., opened his first restaurant, and has since expanded his business to include more branches.
The eight Sam’s stores are all decorated in a ship-related style, and the female staff wear sailor-colored uniforms. The Toyosaki store is newer, so it does not have the same coziness as the other stores, but reliefs of sailing ships hang on the walls, adding to the nautical feel of the store.
Here at the Toyosaki store, the atmosphere is bright with large windows overlooking the ocean.
Point 2: What is the specialty menu at “Sam’s Anchor Inn Okinawa Toyosaki”?
Sam’s Anchor Inn Okinawa Toyosaki is also open for lunch. This is good news since the Anchor Inn on Kokusai-dori is not open for lunch.
They offer a course for lunch, and the cook grills the meat in front of the teppan. You can enjoy a steak at a reasonable price of 3,300 yen for a 150g tenderloin.
The course comes with soup, salad, grilled vegetables, and bread or rice, so the cost is very good.
For dinner, the single items of sirloin and tenderloin are attractive, but there is also a menu that includes half a piece of lobster sea urchin sauce and a steak, and a course of “Motobu beef” that is not available at other restaurants.
This is the 100g course of Motobu beef (Course A), which is priced at 6,380 yen, but we hope you will experience the melt-in-your-mouth texture of Motobu beef.
Point 3: The cook’s performance at “Sam’s Anchor Inn Okinawa Toyosaki” is also fun!
At Sam’s Anchor Inn Okinawa Toyosaki, there is a seating area facing the ocean, and the cook grills meat on a griddle in front of the seating area, giving an interesting performance.
If you go at dusk, you can watch the cooks’ performance with the setting sun in the background.
The level of performance may vary slightly from cook to cook, but you can tell that they are all working very hard to please the customers.
The knife knife cutting and peppermill performance of pepper paste became well-known at Nutobar and was a big hit at the time of the WBC.
The more experienced cooks can even perform the difficult task of turning the pepper mill with both hands and finally catching it with the back of their hands.
This is a performance that cannot be seen on the mainland, so please come and experience it for yourself!
