About 21 minutes by car from Naha Airport. Located between Tomigushiro City and Yaese Town, the restaurant is marked by a trailer house. It features Daito Sushi and Daito Soba, and even though it is in a remote area, there is always a long line of customers. There is also a café menu, which you can enjoy in a relaxed atmosphere.
Point 1: What is the location of “Drive-in Nanachi Drive-in Nanachi”?
Drive-in Nanachi Drive-in Nanachi is located in the southern part of the main island of Okinawa, about halfway between Tomigushiro City and Yaese Town.
It is located in the southern part of Okinawa’s main island, halfway between Toyomigusuku City and Yaese Town, parallel to and inland from the Outlet Mall Ashibinae area to the west, a short distance from Toyomigusuku East Road and National Route 331, and along Prefectural Route 7, marked by the exterior of a trailer house converted into a store.
It is difficult for tourists to get there without a car, but once you go there, you will be hooked, and some people visit every time they go to Okinawa.
Point 2: “Drive-in Nanachi Drive-in Nanachi” What is the fantastic Daito Sushi & Soba?
At “Drive-in Nanachi Drive-in Nanachi,” they are continuing the tradition of the original Daito Soba on Kokusai-dori.
You can often find “Daito Sushi” at Naha Airport and other places, but people go for it and buy it in large quantities.
That is how much I think it is a precious gourmet food, not something you can eat anywhere.
Daito-sushi is characterized by the use of pickled fish landed at different times of the year, such as bigeye, snapper, yellowtail, striped horse mackerel, and Kanpachi.
It is also characterized by the use of “Karashi” (mustard) instead of wasabi as in regular sushi.
Daito soba features homemade thick, curly noodles kneaded with seawater and wood ash from Daito Island, which gives the noodles a chewy texture. The broth made from bonito, chicken, and pork is surprisingly light and goes well with the noodles!
Although it must be a type of Okinawan soba, some people dare to seek out Daito soba here as well.
Here at Drive-in Nanachi, there are about six different types of Daito soba in the lineup. In addition to the simple Soki Soba, there is also a vegetable soba with lots of vegetables and fresh noodles, which is unique!
Point 3: “Drive-in Nanachi Drive-in Nanachi” What else is on the menu?
Drive-in Nanachi Drive-in Nanachi offers more than just Daito sushi and Daito soba.
The menu is full of unique dishes such as a low-temperature-cooked chicken steak set, a three-plate meat bowl, and miso soup made from buckwheat dashi (a Japanese soup stock made from buckwheat)! The price is kept at around 800 yen, which is great.
Also available are desserts such as iced Daifuku, three kinds of Warabimochi, cheesecake, and dusty sweet carrot soup.
But first, try the Daito Sushi and Daito Soba!
