About 50 minutes by car from Naha Airport. Located in Uruma City in the central part of Okinawa’s main island, it is a bakery, tart, and ice cream store that serves ice cream only on certain days of the week. Tourists rarely visit this area, but it is fun to visit a store loved by the locals, isn’t it?
Point 1: Where is “Aimer Okinawa” located?
Aimer Okinawa” is located in Uruma City on the Pacific Ocean side of central Okinawa Island.
Many of you have probably heard of the city, but have never been there.
That’s because, if you look at a map, you will see that the only things around the city are supermarkets such as Sanei and Kanehide, a few resort hotels, and convenience stores.
In other words, it is a place that is perfectly integrated into the daily lives of the locals and has none of the elements that make it a tourist destination.
However, the atmosphere is laid-back and free from the hustle and bustle of other resorts.
Aimer Okinawa” is a confectionary store in a residential area that is loved by the locals.
Am I the only one who hopes it stays that way for a while, if possible, because once its reputation spreads, even in a remote area, it soon attracts huge lines of customers?
Point 2: The tarts at “Aimer Okinawa” look delicious!
Aimer Okinawa also offers a wide variety of tarts.
For example, the pear tart in the photo, compote with spices and white wine, the nut tart with three kinds of nuts and honey from the prefecture, and the small, rich apple-banana tart are all tarts that cannot be found in other regions!
Also, depending on the season, some of the tarts are inspired by the Cheyenne Muscat or cocktails, so you can look forward to a different lineup depending on the season.
Point 3: I also want to try “Aimer Okinawa” baked goods!
The baked goods at Aimer Okinawa are also very popular.
For example, the “pistachio baked sweets” in the photo are very appetizing.
Another popular item for Father’s Day is the “non-sweet cookie tin. It is a good idea to have a collection of not-so-sweet cookies instead of the usual sweet cookies!
As you can see, this store uses local ingredients and fruits while entertaining you with all kinds of unconventional ideas. It is a hard place to get to, but I would love to visit!
