Approximately 40 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This retro hotel is located in Okinawa City in the central part of Okinawa Island. It was opened when Okinawa was still under U.S. military rule, and has remained in business to this day, retaining the good old American atmosphere. In recent years, an annex has been opened, improving the functionality of the hotel in a retro atmosphere.

Point 1: What kind of hotel is “Crown Hotel Okinawa”?

Crown Hotel Okinawa” opened in 1966. Since Okinawa was still under U.S. military rule and U.S. military bases were nearby, there were many foreign guests.

The hotel has a retro appearance reminiscent of an American suburban motel. The interior tickles your fancy with a moderately fancy interior that evokes the good old U.S. of A.

There are a total of 37 rooms, consisting of 6 single rooms, 10 twin rooms, 8 double rooms, and 13 triple rooms, but there are also two types of double rooms, with double beds instead of single beds.

The high ceilings give the rooms a sense of spaciousness, and many people who stay at the hotel once are repeat guests because of its comfort.

Point 2: What is the Annex of “Crown Hotel Okinawa” like?

The “Crown Hotel Okinawa” has a new “Annex” in 2018. It is located near NBC (Nippon Bridal Center), about 9 minutes by car from the main building.

It is also close to AEON Lycoming, and right next door is Kitanakagusuku Village, where the laid-back environment looks cozy.

The rooms are available in economy double, double, and twin, and while retaining the atmosphere of the main building, they are simpler, more spacious, and easier to use.

The rooms are so spacious that you will not feel cramped even with wide width beds, even more so than in the main building!

Point 3: The restaurant at “Crown Hotel Okinawa” is recommended!

The main building of the “Crown Hotel Okinawa” has one restaurant called “Maasan House.

It has a classic, relaxed atmosphere with retro-style chairs and cloth-covered tables.

The menu includes Japanese breakfast, Okinawan breakfast (1,300 yen each), and American breakfast such as bacon and eggs with pancakes or French toast (1,300 yen each).

The grand menu offers a wide variety of dishes such as unaju (eel), sirloin steak, and Okinawan boiled fish set menus! The original BC steak sauce is also popular.

The American menu, which has remained unchanged due to the history of many foreign customers, is typical of Okinawa.

It is not unusual to find American menus in Okinawa, but it must be rare to find them in a restaurant in a hotel.

I would definitely like to stay at this hotel.
