Approximately 34 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This parlor is located on Miyagi Beach in Chatan-cho, central Okinawa Island. Onigiri (rice balls) are the main items on the menu, along with drinks and desserts, and are inexpensive, making them easy to eat. The stylishness of the menu and the location along the beach make it a great place to eat.

Point 1: What is the location of CHATAN PARLOR?

CHATAN PARLOR is located in Chatan-cho, in the central part of Okinawa’s main island.

The first thing that comes to mind when one mentions Chatan-cho is the glamorous “American Village,” but this restaurant is located a little north of the American Village, in an area facing the Miyagi Coast, which is called Okinawa’s representative surfing mecca.

There is a wide variety of restaurants and eateries, including a delicious coffee shop, an American-style hamburger store, and an authentic international restaurant.

Since the restaurant is operating amid such a variety of restaurants, there is no reason for it not to be delicious!

Point 2: What kind of rice ball menu does “CHATAN PARLOR” have?

The main dish at CHATAN PARLOR is onigiri. There are standard items such as umeboshi (pickled plums) and brown rice, but the more fashionable and girl-appealing items are made with cream cheese, Japanese beef, fried egg, wasabi (Japanese horseradish), and tuna mayo! Prices are also inexpensive, ranging from 180 to 350 yen.

The most popular item is the cream cheese cod roe (280 yen), which is softly made and melts in your mouth, spreading the rich cream cheese and spicy cod roe.

It is a moment when you realize that onigiri requires skill in the art of nigiri making.

There are also about 17 other varieties, such as Hokkaido salmon with salted malted rice (280 yen), adult olive oil wasabi (230 yen), and a gorgeous wagyu beef rice ball (350 yen), all of which you will want to try.

The rice used is said to change from time to time, but currently, it is Hokkaido’s “Fukkurinko” rice, which is also used in JAL’s first-class service. It seems that they are particular about the rice they use.

Point 3: What else is on the menu at CHATAN PARLOR?

CHATAN PARLOR is a parlor that mainly serves Omusubi (rice balls), but also offers side dishes, coffee, sweets, and desserts.

Side dishes include Ise hijiki no Yamitsuki salad (230 yen), which is served in plastic for convenient take-out.

Homemade lemonade is a syrup made by slowly soaking lemons and then mixing it with carbonated water, so you can even eat the lemons!

Also, many people buy the “premium apricot bean curd” (330 yen) pictured here with rice balls. The rich taste of milk is well-received. Other desserts include moist and rich brownies (230 yen).

The most popular drinks are homemade lemonade and café au lait! These drinks are homemade and made with care.
