About 35 minutes by car from Naha Airport. It is a self-serve Okinawa soba restaurant located in the central part of Okinawa’s main island, close to the Futenma Air Base. During lunchtime, when the restaurant is manned, you can order set menus. During the rest of the day, the restaurant sells unattended Okinawa soba, curry, and jushii. Sometimes onigiri (rice balls) are served!
Point 1: What is the location where “Narisoba” is located?
Nari Soba” is located in Ginowan, in the central part of Okinawa’s main island.
It is a 35-minute drive from Naha Airport.
The Futenma Air Base is located right there, and there is a street called “Ginowan Hills Street” where there are many relatively new restaurants.
In fact, this area was partially returned from the U.S. military, and in recent years, old buildings have been renovated and new restaurants have been increasing.
From up-and-coming cafes to Vietnamese, Taiwanese, Mexican, and other international cuisines, and even a few Okinawan soba restaurants.
It may be an interesting area with more new restaurants every time you see it.
Point 2: What kind of restaurant is “Narisoba”?
Narinaru Soba” is an Okinawa soba restaurant open 24 hours a day.
You first buy a meal ticket and then serve yourself the menu item of your choice. During unattended hours, there is no gas, as one would expect, and you choose the soup and toppings in an electric pot and place them on top. When you are done eating, of course, clean up is also self-serve!
Even though there are many Okinawa soba restaurants in Okinawa, this is the only one so far in the prefecture that is open 24 hours a day.
However, there is a manned lunch time (11:00~14:00) during which set menus can also be ordered.
The self-service hours (unattended) are from 16:00 to 9:00 the following day, during which time Okinawa soba, curry, and Okinawan-style cooked rice (jushi) are sold unattended.
The restaurant is closed on Sundays, and pricing varies depending on the time of day. There are many detailed rules.
If you are hungry during lunch time, it is a good idea to stop in. They also have a “small” portion of Okinawa soba, so you can decide how much you want to eat.
Also, in the evening, steak is the standard after-drinking dish in Okinawa, but sometimes Okinawan soba is good, too.
Point 3: The “Yushi Tofu Soba Lunch” at “Narisoba” is recommended!
At “Narinaru Soba”, lunchtime set menus can be ordered during the hours of 11:00~14:00 when the waiter is available.
In addition to Okinawa soba, curry is also popular, and curry topped motsu Okinawa soba and other dishes are also available.
The “Yushi Tofu Soba Lunch” topped with Yushi Tofu is highly recommended! What a surprise! What a generous gesture!
The warm and mildly flavored “Yushi Tofu Soba Lunch” is a hearty dish, and once you try it, you will be addicted to it.
We recommend that you order lunch during staffed hours!
