About an hour and a half drive from Naha Airport. This restaurant is famous and has many fans even among the many restaurants in Okinawa that sell authentic hamburgers. Their thick and filling hamburgers are a must-try. Taco rice is also available!
Point 1: What is the location of “Captain Kangaroo”?
Captain Kangaroo” is located in the northern part of the main island of Okinawa, southwest of Motobu Peninsula where Churaumi Aquarium is also located.
It takes about one and a half hours by car from Naha Airport, as it is located in the northern part of the main island of Okinawa, also called Yanbaru.
Take the Okinawa Expressway, Route 58, and head north, and at the Sefkei IC, turn onto Route 449, which also runs alongside “Captain Kangaroo”.
The restaurant is located in an area called “Sakihonbu,” right by the ocean.
Unfortunately, you cannot see the ocean from the window of the restaurant, but there is a park behind the restaurant where you can see the ocean, and it is nice to take out and eat it like a picnic!
Point 2: What is the menu at “Captain Kangaroo” like?
The hamburgers at Captain Kangaroo are famous for their large portions. It is well known that it has been voted the number one “hamburger you want to be hugged” in Okinawa for a long time.
The ingredients are so large that they can’t fit in the bun and overflow like a waterfall, and the skewers that are inserted into the top are wild and sexy! The visual appeal of the burger is so great that many people seem to come here just to talk about it.
The menu has about 11 burgers, with the standard sellers being the Special Burger, Sparky Burger (pictured above), and BBQ Burger.
It is also nice to know that there is a “Plain Burger” available only for children.
The price range is about 700~1300 yen. You can also get a combo (with beverages) for a small fee!
Point 3: “Captain Kangaroo” actually has a menu of rice dishes!

The “Captain Kangaroo Taco Rice” restaurant, also located in Nago, is an affiliated restaurant, but it was established before “Captain Kangaroo Hamburger!
It was originally a taco rice restaurant.
The taco rice at this restaurant also has a rich meat filling, seasoned with spices and a variety of textures. And it is reasonably priced at 1,000 yen.
We also recommend the “Spicy Fried Chicken Rice,” which has fried chicken on top of rice and an exquisite sweet chili and mayonnaise sauce!
It’s really hard to decide what to eat, as the restaurant is so popular that if you go 30 minutes before opening, you may or may not finally be able to sit down for the first round.
