About an hour and a half drive from Naha Airport. It is a pancake store with a spectacular view located in Nakijin Village in the northern part of Okinawa’s main island. Located in “KAYATSUMA OKINAWA,” an elegant villa with a spectacular view of only four buildings, you can enjoy a luxurious atmosphere with a resort-like atmosphere and kill two birds with one stone!
Point 1: What is the location of “Sunny Kitchen Okinawa”?
Sunny Kitchen Okinawa” is located in Nakijin Village in the northern part of Okinawa’s main island. It takes an hour and a half from Naha Airport by car or more than three hours by bus, but it is not that difficult to get there as the Yanbaru Express bus goes directly to the last stop without transfers, and it is only a 26-minute walk from there.
Sunny Kitchen Okinawa” is located in the “KAYATSUMA RESORT” (Kayatsuma Resort, formerly Chilma Resort), a boutique villa with only four buildings, which opened on June 22, 2023, after the opening of the villa in March 2023.
Please see this article for an introduction to the villa, which has a Jacuzzi in every room and an infinity pool!
Point 2: What kind of pancake menu does “Sunny Kitchen Okinawa” have?
The pancake menu at Sunny Kitchen Okinawa is diverse, with about 15 types ranging from plain to royal milk tea, green tea, fruit, caramelized banana & hot chocolate, and more. (990~1683 yen)
Although the prices seem good, even the most reasonable “Sunny Pancake” (990 yen) comes with two pancakes, and pancakes priced over 1,500 yen come with three pancakes, so you can share them! If you can share, you will feel rather cheap.
The soft and fluffy pancakes, made with Gunma-grown wheat and other carefully selected ingredients, have mascarpone kneaded into the batter, giving them a fluffy texture!
The pancakes melt in your mouth and you can also taste the fresh flavor of ricotta cheese.
The inside of the restaurant has a spectacular view as if it were floating on the sea, so you can enjoy blissful pancakes in a dreamlike space.
There is also a drink that can be set with the pancakes for +440 yen.
Point 3: What else is on the menu at Sunny Kitchen Okinawa?
Sunny Kitchen Okinawa offers not only pancakes, but also pasta.
Although there are only five types of pasta here compared to pancakes, they are still special pastas made with prefectural ingredients. (1,350~1,650 yen)
We especially recommend the “Island Pepperoncino with Green Vegetables and Prosciutto Ham,” “Agu Bacon and Mozzarella,” and “Motobu Beef Bolognese,” which are very flavorful because the ingredients themselves are fresh!
Drinks that can be paired with pancakes for a small additional charge include sampincha, coffee, cola, black tea, and juices such as guava, mango, grapefruit, pineapple, orange, and oolong tea.
Enjoy the panoramic view of the emerald green ocean stretching out before your eyes and the delicious pancakes and pasta for a blissful moment.
