About 41 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This bakery is located in Okinawa City, central Okinawa Island. It has a cute hut-like appearance. Bite-sized pies and cakes are popular.
Point 1: What is the location of “Bakery Malibu” in Okinawa City, which has a strong American feel?
Bakery Malibu” is located in Minami-Momohara, Okinawa City, central Okinawa Island. Okinawa City was once called Koza, where the Supreme Command of the U.S. Armed Forces used to be located, and since the Kadena Air Base is also nearby, many restaurants and eateries in Okinawa have a strong “American” feel.
It takes about 41 minutes by car from Naha Airport. It is surprisingly quick if you come via the Okinawa Expressway.
By bus, the shortest route without transfers is to take Ryukyu Bus No. 117 or Limousine Bus Naha Airport Line, get off at Yamazato, and walk for 14 minutes.
Located along “Momoyama-dori,” a street slightly off the main road, it is not along the main road, and in the evening, nearby Kikuyo High School students come here after school.
The cute exterior of the shop, with its wooden door and brickwork, looks like a mountain hut, which is quite comforting.
There is a parking space for about two cars behind the store, but if you want to eat in, they ask you to use the second parking lot.
The animals around the store, such as guppies, kinkajous, tortoises, and squirrels, make it even more relaxing.
Point 2: A bite of pie is very popular! Bakery Malibu’s bread menu!
The most popular bread at “Bakery Malibu” is the “Salt Bread” (110 yen).
Many other bakeries have salted bread, but this is a type of bread that you don’t see very often. When you put it in your mouth, you can taste the saltiness.
There are so many kinds of bread that even if you go there around 3 p.m., there is always a pile of bread, which makes you happy, but at the same time, it is hard to decide which one to choose because you are so busy.
Okinawan-style taro and red potato pies, square curry buns, and mini croissants are also popular!
They are delicious and inexpensive, so you will find yourself wanting all of them.
There is also a small selection of cakes and more than a dozen varieties of cookies and rusks, which make good souvenirs!
Point 3: Introduction of the eat-in menu at “Bakery Malibu”!
At “Bakery Malibu,” there is an eat-in corner with several seats inside the store, where you can eat the bread you bought.
As shown in the photo, it is nice to relax with a bowl of special soup (270 yen) that goes well with the bread!
For those who want to eat with gusto, we recommend the new “English Muffin Sandwich” (399 yen).
Thick bologna sausage and sour cream or cream cheese are sandwiched in between, both of which are rich and delicious!
We also recommend the “Long Pizza Dog” (518 yen), which is equivalent to two pieces of bread.
The sandwiches are lined up in the store in the morning, so there is a possibility that they will be sold out in the afternoon.
If you are looking for sandwiches, we recommend that you come early!
Bakery Malibu” is doing its best to sell inexpensively in Okinawa City, a fierce battleground for hamburgers and American cuisine. It is a hole-in-the-wall bakery that we don’t want to tell you about. Please give it a try!
