Approximately 58 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This Italian restaurant is located in Onna Village in central Okinawa’s main island. Large pizzas made with Ryukyuan ingredients are popular! Reservations are essential as it is a famous restaurant. Risotto, bruschetta, and homemade tiramisu are also delicious!
Point 1: Surprisingly easy to get to? What is the location of Pizzeria da Enzo?
Pizzeria da Enzo is an Italian restaurant located in Onna Village in the central Okinawa main island.
Located in Onna Village, a popular resort area, many repeat customers visit the restaurant every time they stop by Onna Village.
It takes about 1 hour from Naha Airport via Route 58.
By bus, take Ryukyu Bus No. 120 and get off at Kuranami. It is a 15-minute walk to the restaurant. The trip takes less than 2 hours, but the best part is that you can arrive without changing buses!
The stately exterior of the restaurant, reminiscent of Italy, is indeed a popular Italian restaurant.
The restaurant is quite famous, so reservations are required even during lunchtime when visiting.
Point 2: Introduction to the pizza menu at Pizzeria da Enzo!
At Pizzeria da Enzo, pizzas made with Ryukyuan ingredients are especially popular.
The “Island Rakkyo Pizza” shown in the photo is one of them. I had never expected to find island cucumber, which I had always thought of as a Japanese ingredient, as a pizza ingredient! It is a fresh surprise.
The Pescatore-style pizza next to it also looks delicious! The ingredients are very large. The ingredients on top are large, so it is very satisfying, and the deliciousness of the ingredients can be easily conveyed.
It is a pizza that clearly shows that the quality of the ingredients is also important in pizza.
Other popular pizzas include the Margherita, a simple pizza where the ingredients are the deciding factor, the oyster and scallion pizza, the prosciutto mozzarella cheese pizza, and the goya (bitter melon) pizza.
Like the island’s Rakkyo, I could only imagine that bitter melon would be a Japanese ingredient, but perhaps bitter melon, cheese, and tomatoes go surprisingly well together.
For dessert, be sure to try the “Basque Cheese Cake” using chinsuko as the base!
Point 3: Introduction to the lunch menu at Pizzeria da Enzo!
Pizzeria da Enzo offers the classic Margherita and popular pizzas at lunchtime at “lunchtime prices”.
The Margherita is priced at 1,265 yen, a price you cannot get these days!
In addition, there are other pizzas recommended by the owner as “monthly pizzas. One example is the “peppery chicken and hatch miso pizza,” priced at 1,650 yen, which is more expensive than the regular lunch menu. But the deliciousness is well worth the price!
There are also pasta on the lunch menu, including the returning classic “Shrimp and Vegetable Genovese” and “Pasta with Tuna and Olive Mustard Greens in Tomato Sauce” (both for 1,320 yen), both with large ingredients and generous portions!
The restaurant is open in the evening from 5:30 p.m. but offers a wide variety of dishes from appetizers to desserts, all of which are hearty and very satisfying.
Since this is a popular restaurant, it is often open for private parties, so we recommend that you check their Instagram before visiting!
