It is about 12 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This steakhouse is located about a third of the way down Kokusai-dori near the prefectural office in Naha. The brilliant performance by the resident chef is a must-see when you come to Naha. We recommend lunch, where you can enjoy a thick tenderloin at a reasonable price!

Point 1: What is the location of “Captain’s Inn International Street”?

It is located 200 meters from the Kencho side entrance of Naha Kokusai Dori.

Captain’s Inn Kokusai-dori is a steakhouse located about a third of the way down from the prefectural government office on Kokusai-Dori, the main street in Naha City.

Okinawa is known for its steak restaurants, second only to hamburger restaurants.

There are many chain restaurants such as the most famous “Jackie Steak House,” “88,” and “Sam’s,” as well as many more Americanized local restaurants, so it is difficult to know which restaurant to go to.

I have eaten steak every time I have visited Okinawa, and all of them are so delicious that I still cannot decide which restaurant is the best.

Today, I would like to introduce “Captain’s Inn Kokusai-dori,” which is located along Kokusai-dori Avenue and is easy for tourists to enter during the daytime without the need for a reservation.

The first thing to note is that this is a different restaurant from the “Sam’s” group, whose appearance, menu, and chef’s performance style are very similar to the “Sam’s” group.

This is Captain’s Group, a chain restaurant headquartered in Uruma City, with branches in Chatan and Higashimachi, in addition to the one in Kokusai-dori.

It is only a 12-minute drive from Naha Airport. Since it is on Kokusai-Dori, there is no parking available. We recommend using coin parking nearby.

By bus, take Tokyo Bus TK01 or 02 and get off at “Kokusai-dori Iriguchi” and it will take about 4 minutes on foot.

From Yui Rail Kencho-mae Station, it is a 7-minute walk.

Does the “Captain” in “Captain’s Inn” mean the captain of a ship? The classic appearance of the restaurant, which resembles a wooden ship, and the large sign of a cook are landmarks.

There are steps at the entrance, which may be a bit difficult for those with strollers or wheelchairs, but the wait staff will help you.

It was after 2:00 p.m. when the author, who missed lunch, entered the restaurant, but lunch was still served (until 4:00 p.m.). (It seems to be open until 4:00 p.m.)

The restaurant is quite spacious with several tables seating six people. The chef performs in front of you.

The restaurant is quite spacious, with a relaxed interior that resembles the inside of a ship. We were shown a table that seats about 6 people with a griddle. Since the time was the same, there seemed to be no other customers.

The restaurant seems to accept group customers in the evening, and I could imagine it being quite lively.

Point 2: “Captain’s Inn International Street” lunchtime is a great deal!

The tenderloin steak (filet) is quite large!

Captain’s Inn International Street offers a wide variety of lunch menus, from a tenderloin steak course to a seafood course that includes grouper, gurukun, and garlic shrimp. I chose the “Captain’s Lunch B Course” which included tenderloin, garlic shrimp, vegetables, and island tofu.

The menu consisted of tenderloin steak, fish-shaped Konnyaku odori-yaki with garlic, red potatoes, teppanyaki island tofu, sauteed onions, grilled vegetables (bean sprouts, green peppers, green vegetables), rich special soup, fresh salad, bitter melon stir-fry or sesame flavored potatoes, garlic toast or rice and a lot more!

The same menu is also available at night, but for lunch, the price is slightly lower at 3,980 yen per person, which includes a drink.

Point 3: The “Captain’s Inn International Street” chef’s performance is fun!

At Captain’s Inn Kokusai Dori, a dedicated chef gives a cooking performance on the griddle for each pair of customers.

I had experienced this before at a rival restaurant, Sam’s Sailor Inn. This was my first time at Captain’s Inn, although I had experienced this at a rival restaurant, Sam’s Sailor Inn.

Salad and soup were served, and a male chef in his 30s appeared and started cooking.

He took a tower-shaped object behind him, coated it on the griddle, and began to cook vegetables and shrimp.

I asked him what those towers were, and he said “Margarine.” I couldn’t help but notice that the way he was moving was so spectacular!

The performance was coming to an end, and it was time to pepper the tenderloin steaks. The speed with which he milled the tenderloin was nothing short of spectacular!

When asked a nasty question, “Have you ever made a mistake? He answered with a bit of embarrassment, “I have failed many times. He answered with a bit of embarrassment, “I have failed many times. It takes at least one year to become a full-fledged performer.

I guess it is all about experience and practice.

The food was very tasty, with a hearty tenderloin steak, garlic-flavored Konnyaku, potatoes, crunchy vegetables, and plump garlic shrimp!

The tenderloin steak was quite a big portion and we couldn’t finish it and decided to take it out, but we gladly received the package. It was still good to eat a few hours later.

I had mistakenly thought that Captain’s Inn was a member of the “Sam’s” group, but I think Captain’s Inn may be slightly superior in taste.

In terms of name recognition, “Sam’s” is slightly more famous, so I had the impression that it was crowded even during the daytime. I would recommend Captain’s Inn, which is delicious but slightly empty because it is very relaxing if you go outside of the busy times of the day!

If you are having trouble choosing a steak restaurant in Okinawa, I highly recommend “Captain’s Inn” where lunchtime is very reasonable! Please come and visit us.
