About 90 minutes by car from Naha Airport. Located in Nakijin Village in the northern part of Okinawa’s main island, it is an accommodation facility that has been renovated from an old private house. Since it is a condominium type, there are no time constraints and you can spend your time as you like. The area is dotted with markets and restaurants.
Point 1: Where is “SAVANGI” located?
Saving” is an accommodation facility located in Nakijin Village in the northern part of Okinawa’s main island.
It is surrounded by a row of Fukugi trees, and “savangi” means Fukugi in the local dialect.
After passing through the avenue of Fukugi trees, you will come to a large garden, beyond which you will see an old Okinawan house, which is exactly what everyone thinks of as Okinawan scenery, and at that stage, you will be excited.
The interior has been tastefully renovated and furnished to provide a space that is not too much for modern people to spend time in, including Internet access.
Since it is a one-story house, the living room, dining room, and bedroom are all on one floor, making it very easy to use.
It takes about 1.5 hours from Naha Airport via Okinawa Expressway. It takes about 30 extra minutes via Route 58.
By bus, the Okinawa Airport Shuttle OAS/RSL-RP and Ryukyu Bus No. 66 are the least time-consuming. Take the Okinawa Airport Shuttle to Nago City Hall, board the Ryukyu Bus No. 66 at the Ryukyu Bus stop, which is a 2-minute walk away, and get off at “Sangsan” to reach the hotel in 5 minutes on foot.
We recommend using the Okinawa Airport Shuttle OAS/RSL-RP, as it is faster than the local buses, and the fare is rather cheaper about 1,000 yen!
A black cat that seems to live in this old house comes out of nowhere to greet you. There are a lot of stray cats in Okinawa.
Point 2: “SAVANGI” rooms!
Savangi” is a one-story condominium-type accommodation in a renovated traditional Okinawan house.
It has a living room, a bedroom, a kitchen, a shower, a toilet, two single beds, a double bed, and three sets of futons, and can accommodate up to five people.
The living room and dining room are well laid out and very easy to use. Low beds with mattresses that make good use of the space.
A Japanese-style room with Ryukyu tatami mats is also available for guests with small children.
There is no bathtub, but the shower and changing area are easy to use.
Overall, the sense of decor and furniture used are wonderful. The retro radios and record players are also impressive.
The bookshelves are full of nice photo books and other books!
There is also a large garden with wooden tables and chairs inside a row of Fukugi trees, and BBQ facilities are available (free of charge), so you can enjoy BBQ as long as you have the right ingredients.
There is also a supermarket called A-Mart within walking distance, which is open until 10 p.m., so it is very convenient.
Point 3: Radio and record player! Introduction of “SAVANGI” facilities!
Saving” is a condominium-type accommodation, so it is safe to say that almost everything you need for daily life is available.
The kitchen appliances include a microwave oven, refrigerator, and kettle, as well as a washing machine, dryer, highchair for children, coffee maker, and BBQ stove.
There is a large garden with wooden tables and chairs, so you can prepare your ingredients at the market a few minutes walk away and enjoy a BBQ for dinner.
There is also a hammock on the porch, so you can sway in a hammock while feeling the wind blowing through the Fukugi trees!
Reservations can be made through Trip.com and Booking.com, but the price seems to be a little cheaper on Airbnb.
