About a minute’s drive from Naha Airport. This steak restaurant is located near the U.S. military base in Kitanakagusuku Village, Ayaya. I didn’t realize there was a branch of the “Sam’s” family in Kokusai-dori and Awase in a place like this! The menu is slightly different, but casual and reasonably priced! It is a place where you can casually drop by.
Point 1: Sam’s is in a place like this! Where is Sam’s Cafe located?
Sam’s Cafe” is a steak restaurant located in Ayaya, Kitanakagusuku Village, central Okinawa Island.
You may have noticed the “SAMS CAFE” sign when driving on Route 331 from the direction of Okinawa City toward Chatan (Chatan).
This store is an affiliate of “Sam’s,” which has several stores on the main island of Okinawa, including Kokusai-dori and Awase.
It is a bit surprising that Sam’s is located in such a remote place in Kitanakagusuku Village, as I had expected it to be in a busy downtown area such as Kokusai-dori.
The location is right near Gate 6 of Camp Foster, a U.S. military base.
Therefore, most of the guests are from the U.S. military base, giving the place a very cosmopolitan atmosphere.
It takes about 40 minutes from Naha Airport via the Umisora Tunnel and Route 330.
By bus, take the Ryukyu Bus No. 190, which also passes Kokusai-dori and Omoromachi, and get off at Ishihira.
For some reason, there is a parrot at the entrance, and if you talk to it, it will sometimes imitate your voice in return.
Once inside, you will find an old American atmosphere in the style of the 1950s. There are retro car toys and a jukebox to add to the American atmosphere.
Point 2: Introduction of the recommended menu for “Sam’s Cafe!
Steak is still popular and recommended at Sam’s Cafe.
We recommend the Filet Mignon (top quality tenderloin) 150g (2,585 yen), lobster half and steak (4,730 yen), and sirloin steak and barbecue spare ribs (3,520 yen).
All steaks are hearty, tender, and meaty, just like an American steak.
The steak menu comes with soup, salad, and rice or bread, so the portions are more than ample.
The soup is especially popular for its rich, curry-flavored broth, which is delicious even though it does not contain curry powder. The same soup is served at other Sam’s restaurants!
Also, the bread may be homemade, or it may be wine- or pineapple-flavored and full of originality.
It’s nice to have this kind of enjoyment in addition to steak!
Point 3: Introduction of other menu items at “Sam’s Cafe”!
In addition to steaks, Sam’s Cafe offers a variety of other dishes.
There is a full-course hamburger steak and spare ribs (2,475 yen), a lasagna and golden fried shrimp and white fish (2,178 yen), and a full-course seafood menu that includes teriyaki grilled salmon and golden fried shrimp (1,925 yen).
Also available are sea urchin cream and meatball pasta!
The children’s menu is also good, including the “Children’s Special Steak” (1,320 yen)!
In addition, there are reasonably priced alcoholic beverages, desserts such as banana sundaes and parfaits, and cakes such as baked cheesecake and German cake sold by the piece.
It’s a great dessert after a steak!
Note that Sam’s Cafe is open for lunch with an order stop until 2:00 p.m., but takeout can be picked up between 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. There are about 15 menu items, including garlic shrimp & steak, available for an even more reasonable price.
Orders can be placed by phone or on the web!
Sam’s Cafe, located in Kitanakagusuku Village, Ayaya, is a steak chain affiliated with Sam’s on Kokusai Street and Awase, but is slightly more reasonably priced and offers a wide variety of non-steak, dessert, and take-out menus.
It is located near the U.S. military base at Camp Foster, so many U.S. military personnel visit the restaurant and you can enjoy a very international atmosphere. Please come and visit us.
