Tettoh Tea Factory“ opened in January 2025 as the second take-out store of ”Tettoh Coffee” in Einohi, Uruma City.
Tettoh Coffee” was named after a steel tower at the foot of the city, and there is also a steel tower near the second store!

Tettoh Tea Factory is a take-out store that has revived the once extinct local “mountain castle tea” and is now selling it.
The first store, Tettoh Coffee, is a coffee shop where the owner, who had walked around the world in search of the best coffee, encountered coffee roasted in an iron pot in Ethiopia and became very popular for his maniacal coffee, a philosophy that was born from his encounter.
Here at the second store, in addition to Yamagusuku tea, smoothies and coffee are also available, and the spirit of pursuing delicious food through careful research has been carried on.
The rustic block building used to be a rest house for tea workers who had finished producing Yamagusuku tea leaves, but Tettoh Coffee rented it from the city of Uruma and renovated it to breathe new life into it.

It takes about one hour from Naha Airport via the Okinawa Expressway.
By bus, take Ryukyu Bus No. 117 to Ishikawa IC, then take bus No. 1 from Uruma City bus stop “Ishikawa Sub-branch” (14 minutes on foot), get off at “Yamashiro Kominkan-mae”, and walk 22 minutes.
This is the shortest route, although the transfer and the long walk after getting off the bus may be a bottleneck.
There is a field of “Yamagusuku Tea” near the store, which can be visited if desired. Please note that due to the lack of running water, toilets cannot be rented to guests to ensure a limited water supply.

Tettoh Tea Factory, the second branch of Tettoh Coffee, also offers coffee, but features Yamagusuku tea (hot only, 650 yen) and smoothies made with vegetables and fruits from Uruma City.

These are chinsuko (350 yen) kneaded with Yamagusuku tea and taimo (taro) bread.
The chinsuko kneaded with Yamagusuku tea, Okinawa’s only indigenous tea, is a product that can only be purchased here in Okinawa. In some ways, it may be rarer than “Kugani Chinsuko!
Also, the taro bread is made by kneading rich Uruma taro into bread, and its aroma and richness are appealing.
The second store is also located in a more difficult place to get to than the first, but I would like to go there because I can drink “Yamagusuku tea,” which is also rare and precious!
