In Okinawa, many things are called “soul food.

Taco rice, steak, sata andagi, tempura….

Among them, “inari and chicken” is not so well known.

Maruichi Shokuhin, which has a store near the tourist spot Hamahika Island, has had a steady stream of customers since it opened.

Most of them are local customers who order as much or as little as they like.

The shopkeepers hand out chicken in portions, which are hot and delicious!

Point 1: The delicious chicken can only be found here.

The chicken here is addictive.

First of all, the garlic aroma that overflows from the bag is sure to tantalize you.

The texture of the chicken is not so much crispy as crunchy, and then the juicy thigh meat is revealed.

The flavor is, of course, strong, and the meat is junky.

The garlic flavor is very strong, and the batter and meat are both richly garlic flavored.

I thought the texture would be freshly made, but the crispiness is still there even after some time has passed!

Is there a secret in the batter making or the frying method?

Point 2: Glossy rice grain inari

Inari is very pretty with its breaded rice and light-colored fried rice.

As you can imagine from its appearance, it has a very elegant flavor.

The inari plays the role of a gentle flavor that your body would crave for the strong seasoning of the chicken.

The vinegar is moderate, and the thin fried tofu is slightly sweet.

The best part is that this sushi rice is delicious, and the quality of the rice is good, both in terms of the way it is cooked and the quality of the rice.

Larger in size, the rice grains are hard and chewy, filling you up.

Point 3: The salt store has a wide variety of products.

Maruichi Shokuhin has two stores, the main store and the Shioya Store.

The Shioya store offers chicken on the bone and chicken skin, which are not available at the main store and is located in an easily recognizable area, so it is recommended.

The chicken skin is a popular item, and I have yet to see it.

I heard that if you don’t go there first thing in the morning, it will be sold out soon, so I want to try it no matter what!

Because of its location and variety of items, the place tends to be crowded, so if you want to be sure of getting inari and chicken, it would be best to go to the main store.

The main restaurant also offers Torsten (chicken tempura) and kara-age (fried chicken), so be sure to give them a try if you see them.

You will be happy to eat inari and chicken while looking at the sea!
