About an hour drive from Naha Airport. Zanehama Beach is located in Onna Village, a stopover of Yomitan Village in the central part of Okinawa’s main island. The gradation from emerald green to blue is beautiful and the sandy beach is clean, so some people take wedding photos! It is a natural beach that has not been turned into a tourist spot, so it is not so crowded.
Point 1: What is the location of “Zanehama”?
Zanehama” is a beach located near Yomitan Village in Onna Village in the central part of Okinawa’s main island, and is also commonly known as “Beach 51.
The beauty of the sand, the clarity of the ocean, and the beautiful gradation from emerald green to blue have attracted many people to take pre-wedding photos! Now even wedding photography specialists are familiar with Zaneh Beach.
If the weather is clear and the tide is high, you can expect to see the beautiful gradation from emerald green to blue, but if not, the beach will be dull and unappealing.
However, even at low tide, you can find blue fish in the tide pools, which is an exciting point.
However, since it is not an official beach, there is no parking lot, and cars must be parked at the Cape Maeda parking lot, a 5-minute walk away, and there are no rentals or activities available.
Many individuals do snorkeling, SUP, diving, and kayaking, but only at their own risk.
Point 2: Be prepared for heat in “Zanehama”!
Zaney Beach” is a very beautiful beach, not too crowded with tourists, but with locals who come to play and sometimes take wedding photos.
There are vending machines nearby, but if you plan to stay for a long time, it is recommended that you bring a drink to prevent heat stroke, such as Pocari Sweat.
Unlike the mainland, the summer sun in Okinawa is intense. It is often too late to rehydrate when you feel thirsty, so be sure to drink plenty of water!
Zanehama is also a rare spot for snorkeling where you can see seahorses, and for diving where you can meet Nemo.
It is easy to see why it is so popular among divers and scuba divers.
Point 3: “Zaney Beach” This is the best place for a photo spot!
At Zanehama Beach, there is a craggy rocky beach next to the sandy beach and a cave with the blue ocean on the other side, as shown in the photo.
If you point your camera at the cave from the front side when the weather is clear, the cave and the subject become black silhouettes, and the azure sea can be seen beyond them, making it a great Instagram-worthy spot.
Even though there are many beaches in Okinawa, spots like this are rare and precious.
Also, since about a year ago, street parking has suddenly increased here at “Zanehama” beach, and the neighbors have been annoyed, and police enforcement seems to have been tightened. Even if it is a hassle, park your car at the parking lot of Cape Maeda and walk to the beach.
