About 12 minutes by car from Naha Airport. This steakhouse is located on Kokusai-dori, Naha’s main street, about one-third of the way to the prefectural government office. It is a long-established restaurant dating back to the American colonial period, and the cooks’ cooking performances are a lot of fun. It is open only in the evening, but its gorgeous set dinners are very attractive.

Point 1: What is the location and atmosphere of “Sam’s Anchor Inn International Street”?

Sam’s Anchor Inn Kokusai-dori is a steak restaurant located on Kokusai-dori in Naha City. Kokusai-dori is a long street, but it is about a third of the way down from the prefectural government office. There is a high-class soap store “SuiSavon” and an Italian restaurant “Secret” with a pink door around the street.

There are also souvenir shops, cafes, and hotels. If you know what Kokusai Dori is like, you may be surprised at the variety of stores on the street.

Many tourists who come to Okinawa for sightseeing often stay in Naha for the first night due to flight times, so I recommend the steaks at “Sam’s Anchor Inn International Street” for dinner on the first night.

The frontage of “Sam’s Anchor Inn Kokusai-dori” is narrow, and a rather steep staircase awaits you.

The interior of the restaurant is built in the image of a sailing ship from the Age of Discovery. The “AAA” sign inside the restaurant indicates that it has been in business since Okinawa was still the United States, and is a sign that the restaurant is endorsed by the U.S. military.

The sign is a sign that the store has the approval of the U.S. military. and a waitress in a sailor uniform urges you to take a seat in front of the griddle. After a while, the cook comes and cooks the meat on the iron plate in front of you.

The cook’s tall hat is strikingly red! Some of the waitstaff seem to be foreigners. Of course, they can speak Japanese, but the atmosphere is unique to Okinawa.

The owner of this store is a foreigner who used to be neighbors with Elvis Presley! He also published his autobiography. He has also published an autobiography.

Point 2: What is the recommended menu for “Sam’s Anchor Inn International Street”?

Sam’s Anchor Inn on Kokusai-dori is only open for dinner.

There is also a restaurant called “Sam’s Sailor Inn” on Kokusai Dori, which is also open for lunch.

If you go only for dinner, you will naturally have more course meals.

The restaurant serves only tenderloin and sirloin steaks by themselves (from 3,280 yen), but we recommend the full-course dinner of sirloin steak and half a piece of lobster (sea urchin sauce) (small cut: 5,500 yen).

Or, the sirloin steak and garlic shrimp course (small cut: 4,800 yen), which has the atmosphere of an exotic steak restaurant in Hawaii or the like.

The course comes with original curry-flavored soup, garden salad, seasonal vegetables, potatoes, and bread or rice, so it is not too expensive, even at Kokusai-dori prices.

For an extra 300 yen, you can also order a flavorful garlic rice dish, which is also highly recommended.

Point 3: The cook performance at “Sam’s Anchor Inn International Street” is fun!

At Sam’s Anchor Inn Kokusai Dori, the most enjoyable part of the restaurant is the performance of the cooks.

A short time after customers are seated, the “cook in charge” stands in front of the griddle in front of them. After introducing himself, he starts grilling meat and vegetables.

At first, the cook works silently and the customers watch quietly, but when the customers take out their cameras and start shooting videos, the cooks get on board and begin to give a showy performance.

During the WBC season, the cooks would often perform a “pepper mill performance,” which was always hilarious.

Toward the end of the cooking, the peppermill performance reaches its climax. They show their advanced skills by peppering the meat, throwing the peppermill and catching it with their back hands. However, some of them are still “practicing,” so if they fail, please watch them with warm eyes.
