Approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes by car from Naha Airport. Point 1: How do I get to “AJ Island Resort Ikejima”?
AJ Island Resort Ikejima is located on Ikejima, a remote island off the coast of Uruma City, on the Pacific Ocean side of the central Okinawa main island.
There are four remote islands connected to Uruma City by bridges, and Ike Island is the furthest away from Uruma City. However, it takes only 1 hour and 20 minutes from the airport via Okinawa Expressway and Prefectural Routes 36, 37, and 10, surprisingly.
By bus, however, one needs to transfer to a local bus and a bus that tours the four islands, which can take nearly four hours due to poor connections and infrequent buses.
On the way to Ike Island, you can enjoy a variety of scenery from the Okinawa Expressway highway, the World Heritage Katsuren Castle, the underwater road that crosses to the remote islands, the emerald green sea of the remote islands seen when crossing the island, power spots such as Kaho Banta and Sinugudo ruins, sunflowers that bloom all year round, and many more, so you will feel like you have been sightseeing before you arrive. Point 2: What kind of hotel is “AJ Island Resort Ikejima”?
AJ Island Resort Ikejima” is a small resort hotel with a total of 86 rooms.
There are a main building and cottages. The main building is divided into standard rooms and corner suites, and seven cottages with Japanese and Western-style rooms are scattered in the northwest of the main building. The corner suites and cottages even have massage chairs!

The buffet includes roast chicken, curry, salad, and desserts such as Blue Seal ice cream, making the 3,650 yen price more than worth it!
