It is not an Okinawan house, but rather a slightly different kind of old private house with an overhanging second floor and a pilotis-like first floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once inside, the high ceilings and thick black beams of pine and cypress wood give the interior a folk art-like feel with the weight of history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Voices crackle and a breeze passes through, so it feels rather cool even without air conditioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although this old private house was moved from Niigata, it must have been built to suit the Japanese climate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nambaebaru-cho is located east of Naha City, near Shuri, and is a long and narrow town. It is a town without sea, adjacent to Yaese Town, Nishihara Town, and Yonabaru Town in the south.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is surprisingly close to Naha Airport, only 27 minutes by car.
